Ms. Bierbaum has been in Private Practice since 1990 and established her own firm in February 1992. Prior to that, she worked with the Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and San Benito District Attorneys' Offices as an Assistant DA, 1983-1990. Ms. Bierbaum has personally handled over 50 Jury Trials, numerous Court trials (to a Judge) as well as various and sundry Preliminary Hearings (Felonies), Motions, and sentencing Hearings. She also advocates for Respondents at DMV hearings and has successfully retained driver's licenses, i. e.--prevented suspensions, in over 40% of cases.

Ms. Bierbaum was cross-designated as a U.S. Prosecutor, while she was a Santa Cruz Deputy District Attorney, to assist the San Jose U.S. Attorney's Office in the "Golden Dragon" case, which involved 11 tons of Thai weed importation.
Ms. Bierbaum was also a Volunteer Firefighter/E.M.T., Fire-Safety Officer, and founding member of the local fire brigade near her home.
